Today is the day! Guillaume arrives from France to spend the next month with us! His day started early...he was posting photos on Facebook from his first leg of the flight while I was still drinking my coffee.
His room is ready, the house is clean and now we are just tracking his flight to make sure it will arrive on time. How cool you can go right online and see exactly where his plane is? At this point he was just coming in thru Canada.

A good storm came thru on our way to Boston Logan Airport...and we even saw a rainbow! I will take it as a good sign of the month to come. This time, instead of going out to dinner, we decided Scott should stay home and get to work on his famous pizza. The kids all come in on the same flight...6:30 pm, an hour in customs, an hour home and they are exhausted!
At the airport, all the International parking was full! So now, I have 2 kids in the car and another kid inside! Tyler and I went back and forth while Jack stayed in the car at the curb. The police officers were so kind to let me park for so long...of course, I had to put on the charm to get away with such law breaking activity!
One last run in the airport and I finally spotted him walking thru the doors and whisked him off before they towed our vehicle with Jack in it!
Back at home, pizza was ready! "G" was still quite alert, and hungry!
And, it didn't take long for the boys to all be fast friends...the started the morning playing Sequence, then out for a skateboarding lesson,
badminton,
then swimming at Scott's brother's house....Sixto's Lagoon as it is affectionately called.
Back at home, the boys relaxed for awhile playing Mindcraft while we got dinner going early. The outlook looked promising for some good surfing tonight so we headed back out at 5:30 and headed to The Wall at Hampton Beach.
Had I known that all this surfing equipment was right at my fingertips, I would have taken up surfing years ago! A big thanks to Uncle Larry for the surfboard loaner! Scott happens to have a wetsuit circa the late 80's that worked out fine. The water was 64F/16C...brrr...
It won't be too long before Jack gives up his skimboard and replace it with a surfboard!
Tyler was the smart one, he stayed dry and warm and had fun observing.
Unfortunately, the waves weren't as big as G had hoped, but he wasn't complaining. His first full day in the USA and he gets to do his favorite sport. I'd say life is pretty good for him :)
The day would not be complete without a stop at the Beach Plum for ice-cream!
Another big day planned for tomorrow as we head up into Maine for an annual beach day with some friends.
I am happy to report that G is a great match for our family and we have all bonded quickly. After getting to know him thru Facebook during the last couple of months, I can honestly say he arrived here as a friend. And as for Jack & Tyler who didn't have that interaction with him prior, they were fast friends.
We are looking forward to a fun, adventure filled month!
